"Hot Coffee"

We had a poopy morning. When I went to change Serena's diaper first thing this morning, I discovered that she had pooped right out the back of it. :P Thankfully, she was wearing footie pajamas, so it was contained. But, what a disgusting mess!! Then, right after I changed her, I changed Bret and he peed while I had him between diapers. A lot. Then, during breakfast, he blew out of his diaper!! Grrrrrr! And we'd only been up for about an hour!! The day did get better, though! ;) We got the house cleaned and the laundry done (still waiting to be folded, though! Looks like it'll keep waiting until tomorrow.).

When Grandma & Grandpa were here, they fired up my coffee pot and made coffee every morning. Since I quit coffee for the pregnancy, Serena had not seen coffee before. She was very curious about the pretty mugs and dark drink! Grandma & Grandpa made sure she understood that it was "hot coffee." I'm not sure she really 'gets' the 'hot' concept yet, but she definitely thinks that "hot coffee" is something very special that you have to be careful with! She is almost reverent in its presence and loves to put her hands around the warm cup!

I put my coffee mug on the shelf and then Serena went to find her sippy cup and put it on the shelf too! Then, she dug up her doll's bottle and put it to the left of her sippy (you can't see it in this picture) and stepped back to survey her grouping.

I tried giving Bret a paci for the first time today. He's not really crazy about it, but he is doing better with it than Serena did. She took two weeks to really take to it. We'll see how Bret does. Serena is really excited about this new baby accessory!
