Oopsies Post

I just realized that there was a set of pix that I thought I had uploaded on the last post that actually didn't make it in there! So, here's a continuation of the previous post!

After we ate lunch at the mall, Grammie took Serena on a ride on the carousel! When Mom first suggested it, I wondered to myself if Serena would be brave enough to leave me to go on the big bright carousel with Grammie. But, then I thought that maybe she would like it because she loves riding her horsie at home, so maybe she would see this as a bigger better horsie ride! So, that's how we presented it to her: "Do you want to go ride on one of those horsies with Grammie?!" She looked the carousel over, and you could almost see the wheels in her head turning! Her eyes were bigger and rounder than ever as she took Grammie's hand and walked with her to the booth to buy a ticket!

Buying a ticket to ride the carousel

She obviously thought she was a pretty big girl as she walked to the gate with Grammie

Waiting with great anticipation for the carousel to come to a stop so she could get on! I loved how she stood on her tiptoes as if she could see better then!

Grammie helped Serena find a pretty horse with lots of pink on it! Aunt Julie, Bret, and I stood by and waved as Serena came around each time. For the first 3 or 4 rounds, Serena waved enthusiastically. Then, she became more serious and seemed very intent on riding her horsie! It was adorable!

Before they got on, I had warned Mom that Serena might get sad when the ride was over; so Mom tried to prep Serena when the ride started to slow down. "The ride is all done! Wasn't that fun?!"

Serena didn't want the ride to be over! She shook her head and said, "No!"

Aunt Julie & I came over and started clapping and saying, "Yay! You rode the horsie! That's so fun!" Serena immediately forgot about being sad about being done and switched into celebration mode instead (she loves to clap!). I was glad we averted the tearful tantrum that a kid on the previous ride threw! :P Instead, we got to walk away with a very happy little girl who kept glancing over her shoulder to take one last look at the pretty bright carousel with her big round eyes!
