SHE WENT POTTY!!!!

SHE WENT POTTY!!! I'm in complete shock!

Okay, so I've just been letting Serena sit on the potty for fun. She's always had her clothes on. Then, after her nap this afternoon, I was getting the kids ready for a shower and thought, "Hey, why not let Serena try sitting on the potty bare-bottomed and see what she thinks of that?" You guys, SHE WENT!!!!

In our new abode, the doors have handles rather than traditional knobs. Serena has recently figured out that she can open and shut the doors! Oh what fun!!!! Her new favorite game now is putting her baby to bed! Her baby is in Serena's crib, so Serena can't get her in and out since she can't reach. But that's okay. She just pretends! She'll go into her room, mess around for a little bit, then come out, carefully shutting the door behind her. Then, she'll come find me saying, "Bah-bah! Bah-bah!" (baby) and doing her sign for "Go sleepy." She'll keep doing this until I acknowledge that her baby has indeed gone to sleep. She may then look at me with very serious eyes, put her finger in front of her mouth, and say (in a perfect "Sid the Sloth" from "Ice Age" impersonation), "Ssstthhh!" Then, Serena will stand there quite satisfied for a second...maybe two...and then suddenly (as if taken by surprise) say, "Uh-oh!" and point urgently at her bedroom door. This is my cue to say, "Oh no! Did your baby wake up?!" Serena then hurries off into her bedroom to help her baby go back to sleep. We then repeat the whole process until something happens to distract Serena from her ever-waking baby! ;)

Today I had the bright idea to make a 'bed' for her baby so she could actually use her baby while she played. I used a shoe box of Jordan's and a receiving blanket of Bret's and it worked wonderfully! Serena loved wrapping her baby and laying her in the 'bed' each time she came in to check on her!

Yes, I DID TOO take a picture! Haha! Proof positive. The child REALLY DID go pee-pee on her first try!
