Pookie Listen to Daddy!

We drove up to Cedar Rapids this afternoon when Jordan got done with work.  After stopping at Coral Ridge to meet up with Mom for a bit, we headed on up to Jordan's parents' house.  After supper, we all went outside so the kids could play a little while Jordan & Grant played basketball.  The dogs were running around, and we saw Rocky head off down the driveway towards the ditch across the road.  Jordan knew immediately that he was headed over to check out a dead cat (gross!), so he called him back.  But Rocky just kept going; didn't even give Jordan a reaction.  So, Jordan took off after Rocky to give him what Jordan calls a "come to Jesus" moment.  Serena just saw Jordan take off running down the driveway and figured something fun must be about to take place, so she went running after him as fast as she could.  She just turned the corner in time to see Jordan coming out of the ditch holding Rocky at eye level by the scruff of the neck and saying "NO!" in a very stern voice!  Serena stopped in her tracks, then turned around and started walking back towards me with a very serious look on her face.  When she got within earshot, she said, "Daddy say, 'No! Rocky!'"  And then, after another glance back at Jordan, she said with a worried expression, "What Daddy doing?"  I said, "Well, Rocky didn't listen to Daddy so Daddy is saying No to him."  She kept walking for a bit while she tried to process that bit of information.  Suddenly, her worried little expression smoothed into a big, bright smile as she came onto a wonderful realization, "Pookie listens to Daddy!!!"
