Serena & Bret's relationship seems to have gone to a new level over the last couple weeks. They've always had a good relationship, for which I've been SO thankful; but they are interacting so much more now, which is really fun to see. I am just loving hearing their giggles together! It's the best!
Serena tickles Bret all the time. "Thiggle, thiggle, thiggle!" I have to tell her to give him a break sometimes. She likes to call him "Little Buddy" and talks to him in a sweet, "baby talk" kind of voice, cocking her head and getting down on his level. It is so adorable! When he wakes up from a nap, she gets SO excited and runs SQUEALING to his room, calling over her shoulder, "Come on, Mommy! Bet wake!" At meals, if I scoot Bret's high chair over so I can reach him more easily while feeding him, Serena insists that I move her chair too because she wants to "sit by Bet." She loves playing any sort of game in which she and Bret can take turns. Throwing balls especially lends itself to that (and Bret just happens to LOVE anything to do with balls), so we play catch A LOT! "Now BET'S TURN!" "Now POOKIE'S TURN!!!" They both have such a great time! She often says things like, "Bet Pookie's brother; Seena Bet's sister."
Though Serena gets teased and tickled and tussled PLENTY by her Daddy, she doesn't always have a very high tolerance for it. She tends to get really "busy" with what she's doing, and if Jordan suddenly grabs her and wrestles her to the floor, she'll often say, "NO!! Pookie playing toys!" or "making coffee" or "eating" or "reading books"...you get the idea! ;) On the other hand, if she's in the mood where wrestling and tickling are what she's "doing," then she and Jordan have lots of fun! One of her new favorite games is, "Daddy, chase me!"
On the other hand, Bret is ALWAYS up for wrestling, tickling, and getting tossed around. He loves it! At the slightest playful gesture, he opens his mouth in a wide grin and he is up for anything! When Jordan chases Serena, Bret wants to come along or he'll crawl after them complaining loudly about being left behind!
