Today, Serena was poking around in a few boxes that we have stacked out in the entry area. We don't really have much for storage right now, hence the random boxes around the house. ;) She wanted to know what was in one, and I told her that there were hats and mittens in there...and then proceeded to tell her (before she could ask if she could try them on!) that we were saving them for when it gets cold outside and the snow comes back.
THE SNOW!!! It was as if Serena hadn't even thought of the snow for a while! What did the snow go??? (Remember, we still don't use the word "where"!)
For the next 10 minutes, Serena was occupied with calling the snow back. She went to each window (they are all open because we're having such nice warm weather right now!) and called as loudly as she could, "SNOW! COME BACK! SNOW!" Then, she came over and wanted to use the dog whistle to call in the snow. When she couldn't find a whistle, she settled for the goose call. So, there she was at the window, honking on the goose call for the snow to come in! Finally, she told me that the snow had gone to get a drink and that she was going to wait for the snow to come back.
Good idea.
