I just love how each day we get to see the little people that our babies are becoming. I wish I could capture all of the expressions that cross their faces with their every passing thought. Of course, I understand Serena's expressions very well now; while Bret's are still defining themselves. The neat thing is to look back at Serena's newborn pictures and see how her expressions haven't changed very much, and to know that someday we'll probably say the same thing about Bret!
"More" - This is the expression that accompanies the "More" sign when she wants you to notice that she's going to do whatever-it-is again. She will not stop making the sign (and the expression will only become more earnest) until you say, "Do it again!" or, in this case, "Twirl some more!"
I was making eggs for supper, and all of a sudden Serena ran off to the play room like she was on a mission. When she returned, she was carrying a plastic egg from her grocery cart! She wanted me to take it. This is the expression that carries an expectation that Mommy will know what to do with this!
Serena stood by and watched me pretend to crack the egg over the pan. Then she ran off to get me another one! This expression is the one she has when she really wants me to play along with her. If I don't make it realistic enough or try to just brush her game of pretend aside, it will probably hurt her feelings! ;)
