One of Serena's favorite new words is "stuck." It's amazing to me just how many things in her world are "stuck"! Basically, if she can't get something to physically do what she wanted, she turns to me, points at the item, and pronounces it (in her growly voice that she reserves just for certain words), "tuck"! Yesterday, she was swatting her hand at all the flies she could find (she sees Daddy do it a lot because he catches and kills them). She swatted her hand at a fly on the window sill, but it didn't budge! She came and told me it was "tuck" (it was dead!)! Haha!
There are only certain words/phrases that Serena growls. All her other words are in a normal baby-ish voice! So far, the ones she growls are "stuck," "bar" (as in granola bar), and "buckle the buckle." I'm not sure why she growls them, but it's hilarious! The other day, we were eating with friends, and when Serena was done and ready to get down, she started growling while pulling at the buckle to her high chair. Our friends stopped and looked at her with such funny expressions! I think they thought she was getting upset, but I reassured them that she was only asking me to unbuckle the buckle! We all got a good laugh and made Serena repeat the phrase at least 20 more times that night, and each time she did it the very same! Silly girl!
