Hopefully I'll be getting more pix from Serena's birthday from Kari sometime soon (hint, hint, wink, wink!). ;) For now, these are the ones I got today. I didn't get many pictures because I was trying to get videos instead. Hopefully I'll be able to get those edited and posted eventually too! :P So much to do!!! ;)
We had a wonderful day today! It was just so fun and special! I loved how it all went!
Throughout the day, I kept telling Serena how it was her special day because it was her birthday. Now and then, I would sing the birthday song to her and she loved that. She always points to herself when I get to the "Dear Serena" part! ;) And then she says she wants "Moe"!
Of course, the day started off with church. Serena wore the pretty new dress Gram got her for her birthday. It's pretty long on her, and she just looked so grown up in it!!!

On the way to church
We ate lunch with the staff at camp and then Serena took a much-needed nap. (Poor thing woke up with a cold this morning! Bummer!) After her nap, I changed her into her pink & brown sparkly dress; and then she lounged with Daddy, eating dehydrated apples and watching hunting shows until Grandma & Grandpa and Grant & Anna arrived!
Chillin' with Daddy
Serena was oh-so-excited to see "Gompa" and "Gompa" and "Got" and "Aa-aa"!! They brought presents with them and Serena was all business about finding out what was inside of them!! Grandma & Pa Tuecke had sent down a "Fur Real" puppy that came with a bag. In true toddler form, Serena seems to like the bag more than the puppy, haha! She was so excited when she realized it had a zipper on it! "Zzzup!!" Grandma & Grandpa gave her a book about being 2, and Serena thinks it's pretty special. The first page has a picture of a little girl just smiling, and Serena thinks she has to smile back at her every time she reads it. It's so funny! And this morning, Grandma got the brilliant idea to make Serena a sling!! It is adorable and Serena loves it!
Reading her new book with Grandma while holding her baby in the sling. Bret apparently liked the book, too! ;)
We had a yummy supper of grilled pork chops, baked asparagus, and grilled pineapple (thanks to the grilling-master-ness of Grandpa!!). Later, the whole camp staff and everyone else that's here (a couple campers are here early, and there's a few visitors for the week) came down to join the party. Jordan lifted Serena up high while everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to her. After that, Serena blew out her candle about 10 times. Finally we convinced her that it would be more fun to eat her cupcake (or "Fah-fah" [muffin], as she calls it) than to blow out the candle. She put down the whole thing without any trouble! When she was done, she asked for "Moe," but I told her that we would only have one so there's enough for everybody. She was fine with that and was ready to get down and play. The camp staff had gotten a gift for her too. There was a little pink outfit that says "Hugs are free" (very fitting, haha!). And several cutesie headbands. Serena loved putting the headbands on. She tried wearing them on her head, across her eyes, and across her mouth, heehee!
