Toddler Story Time

A few weeks ago, I signed Serena up for Toddler Story Time at the library in Mt Pleasant.  Today was the first class.  She got to put a sticker by her name on a big chart and wear a nametag.  She picked a blue mat to sit on and watched all the other kids very curiously.  They read two stories - one at the beginning and one at the end of the time. She listened well for that.  They also sang a couple action songs, but she mostly just watched the other kids.  I was kinda surprised, since she loves singing action songs!  They painted with q-tips for a while too.  The teacher was trying to get them to mix the paints together so they could see how new colors could be made, but it seemed like it was over most of the kids' heads...including Serena!  ;)  She just wanted to dip her q-tip and make dots all over her page while the other kids drew scribbles!

After story time, we ran some errands, ate lunch with Daddy & Gary, and ran some more errands.  By the time we got home, it was 3 o'clock, and Serena was SO wiped out!  When we were about 3 minutes from home, she started getting upset because she wanted the spoon that I had given Bret to play with (in my attempt to keep him happy!).  I told her she could not take it from him, so she started crying.  I could tell she was just maxed out!  After a little bit she said, "Pookie sad!"  That's the first time she's expressed an emotion in words, I think!  When we got home, I think she fell asleep before her head even hit the pillow!
