Hair Washing

Poor Serena-baby is sick! She has congestion that is all settled into her chest, and you can hear it when she breathes. :( There are no other symptoms (except her crankiness and inability to sleep the last couple days...which I couldn't figure out at the time, but now I understand!). Hope she can get over it quickly!

This morning, I was getting things together for us to go for a walk and the little Bambina was playing. She went into our room and shut the door behind her. Then I heard her shut the bathroom door. I figured she couldn't get into too much trouble in the next couple minutes and finished putting Bret on with the Moby wrap before heading in after her. I was a little concerned as I neared the bathroom and couldn't hear her (that's usually not a good sign, right moms??). When I opened the bathroom door, Serena was no where to be seen! Then, I noticed that the toilet room door was shut. It still seemed really weird that she wasn't making any noise, since she would have already been in there for a couple minutes probably and it is pitch dark in there with the door shut since there are no windows. I would have expected her to have been banging on the door and going, "Eh? Eh?" When I opened the door and turned on the light, there she was smiling up at me. She then proceeded to dip her hands in the toilet water (thankfully it was flushed and freshly cleaned!), rub them together, and then rub them in her hair as though she was washing it!! YUCKY!!! Yes, she got a bath! ;)

Serena continues to enjoy playing with her toys in Rocky's kennel

Serena likes to hold Macy's leash when we're on our walks!

More grins

Tonight, we took a little walk down to the park before Serena's bedtime. I started off down the sidewalk with Serena while Jordan got the dogs ready (since Serena is a pretty slow walker). We were about half-way to the park when Serena looked back and saw Daddy just leaving the house with both dogs on leashes. Serena dropped my hand, reached a hand out towards Jordan, said "No," and took off running towards Jordan as fast as she could!! As soon as she reached him, she reached out urgently for Macy's leash! While we were at the park, Serena wandered off to do some exploring on her own. She ended up all the way at the other end of the park (probably 60 yards or so from where we were standing) when we were ready to leave. Jordan called to her, and then we turned and started walking slowly back to the end of the park that is closer to our house. We stopped and gave Rocky a retrieve while we waited for Serena to catch up to us. Her sturdy little legs were trucking right along! When Serena reached us, we were talking and hadn't really acknowledged her arrival yet. She didn't mind; she just said a great big loud, "Hi!" It was so cute! I love the big smile that always accompanies her "hi"!!

I love the way you tell things, Jenn - I felt like I was along on that walk - and I loved every minute of it!
