Though she cannot say the words "All by myself" yet, Serena definitely gets the point across! She is becoming very independent! As soon as I pull her clothes out, she starts saying, "No, no, no...," not because she doesn't want to get dressed, but because she doesn't want me to dress her! With some (discreet) help from me, she is able to put on her bottoms (she accepts help in pulling them up) and her tops (she accepts help in finding her armholes, though). She climbs in and out of her highchair and the truck all by herself, zips zippers, throws away trash, puts her dirty clothes in the basket, and generally prefers not to hold hands when walking somewhere. If I forget and start to help her with something she can do herself, she says, "No" and then points to herself. Her "No" is not a defiant no, but more like a pleading no; it's very sweet!
Serena has decided that she really likes her "Fur Real" puppy after all! It has a leash, and Serena thinks it's really fun to drag it around! She especially loves taking it in and out of its little carrier bag. Julie, take note for when we come to visit you and Amy!!!! ;)

Serena's new favorite book is the one about turning 2!!!

Giggles from Bret, fresh up from his nap!
