It's one of those tips that moms always pass along to each other: Pack away some of the toys to rotate in and out of your child's playtime. I actually did keep 2/3 of Serena's books packed away after we moved here and I've been rotating 1/3 of the books (about 10 or so at a time) every month or so. I've been really happy with the results. Well, a couple weeks ago, I decided that it was high time I packed up toys and started rotating them too. We now only have two small baskets of toys out: one geared toward Bret and one toward Serena. The four-wheeler, doll stroller, grocery cart, and walker got to stay out too. Serena has apparently not even missed the toys I packed up. Or at least, she hasn't asked about them. And the toys we have out are definitely proving to be enough to keep her busy!
Since Daddy is away hunting this weekend, I decided that today would be a good day to bring out the bag of duplos and tinker toys. Serena rarely gets to play with these, so she was pretty excited!! We've been doing lots and lots of building today! This was perfect for a long, cold, rainy day...day #2 of Daddy's absence!
