Pigeons!

This afternoon, Daddy brought home 6 new pigeons and put them in the backyard. When he got Serena up from her nap, he took her to the backyard to show them to her right away. For the next 30 minutes or so, she did not leave the backyard except to come in once for her sippy cup. She stayed back there and talked to the birds and Rocky (who was also very interested in the new tenants!)!

"Did you see the pigeons, Mama?!"

When I first got the bouncy seat out, I wasn't sure how useful it was going to turn out to be. Between Serena and Rocky both trying to climb in it, and Serena dragging it all over the house with her doll on board, I started to wonder if I shouldn't have even bothered getting it out at all since it didn't seem likely Bret would be using it! Now that the novelty of it has worn off, I've started putting Bret in it a little more and Serena has been great about it (although, Rocky still thinks it's his place to nap when nobody else is using it)! Serena loves having Bret down where she can interact with him, and she REALLY loves to bounce him! This can be pretty handy for me when I need to deposit him in the seat so I can use both of my hands for a minute! If he starts to fuss a little, Serena is more than happy to run to his rescue! I'm thinking that with her around, Bret will not have much occasion to fuss over being bored or wanting someone to interact with him!!

Bouncy seat smiles! If only I could get one of both of them smiling at the same time!!!
