Feeling Rested

I think it's safe to say I'm caught up on all the sleep I lost over the weekend with Serena's illness! Last night we went to bed at 10:15 (early for us). Bret woke up at 2:30, which is normal for him (for the last couple weeks, he's been sleeping from 8-ish until 2-ish!!!). THEN, he did not wake up until 7:45!!!! AMAZING!! I could hardly believe it when the next time I opened my eyes it was bright and sunny outside. Usually, I wake up with him around 4-something and 6-something before actually getting out of bed at 7-something! I don't know what got into him, but it felt really nice to get so much uninterrupted sleep!!

Notice the collection of shoes Rocky's been adding to all day, haha! There was a crew working on replacing our neighbor's roof today. They played loud country music on their boom box and Serena loved it! She was probably the only person in the neighborhood who was enjoying it, haha! ;) She spent about 45 minutes watching them work while she munched on "Oh's" from the star shape from her shape sorter. It only holds about 10 "Oh's" so she had to keep running back into the house to get more (trailed by Rocky, of course, who was hoping she would spill some!). The men were nice and waved at Serena, but I wish they'd considered the fact that she could hear them loud and clear whenever they swore! :|

Funny Serena moment today: Rocky started getting really excited around a quarter after five (in anticipation of Jordan's arrival). He ran in and out of the house as fast as he could, tackling Macy every time he reached the kitchen. The last time he ran in (after which I put the kibosh on his antics), they collided with the trashcan (thankfully they didn't knock it over!). A minute later, I heard another collision with the trashcan and looked over just in time to see Serena running into the trash can and careening around like she'd seen the dogs do!! :D

Bret was a little less interested in the roofing! He was asleep about 2 seconds after I took this picture!
