What's Up

Serena keeps us laughing so much!  She has such a thing for wanting to do whatever the doggies do.  It's really hilarious, and I know she's going to be SO EMBARRASSED someday, heehee!!  ;D  Tonight on our walk, Serena suddenly wanted to get out of the stroller and walk.  We were walking pretty leisurely and just letting the doggies run around.  First, Serena told us she was going to go "Fast!"  Then, she started zig-zagging across the road and into the grass on either side (just like the doggies).  She was moving at a pretty good clip, too!  After a while, Gus sat down a little ways in front of her and started scratching his neck.  Jordan & I could hardly hold the laughter in when we saw Serena sit down in the middle of the road, lift her yellow-booted foot up to her neck, and start moving it back and forth in a motion very similar to Gus'!!  Her favorite game is still fetch.  If she happens to be out when Jordan is training the dogs, she does not consider the training session complete until he has thrown a retrieve for her!  Even in the house, she keeps me busy throwing balls and dummies for her to retrieve.  Of course, she always remembers to 'hup' and reminds me to tell her 'give.'  ;)  The crazy little girl has even started squatting in the yard pretending to go "Pah-yay" (potty) when she sees the dogs relieve themselves.  (Man, someday she's really going to hate me for writing that story down, haha!)

Yesterday, as I was brushing Serena's teeth, she suddenly said "Ow!"  I looked inside her mouth to see what could be hurting her and discovered that half of her bottom right molar has come through!  Yay!  Three and a half more teeth to go, and then we'll be done with teething with Serena!!!!!  I don't think I can convey just how excited I am about reaching that particular milestone!!!

While we were at the library this past Monday, I picked up a couple of Sandra Boynton books.  One of them was "Let's Dance, Little Pookie."  Serena loves doing the little dance moves (which consist of hopping, marching, reaching high and low, shaking, and bowing)!  I need to get video of it!  Jordan asked her if she's the little 'Pookie' and she said "Mmhhmm"!  Now, she randomly points to herself and says, "Pookie," so apparently that is her self-imposed nickname!  ;)

Serena loves washing her hands and pretending to wash her hands!  If she sees someone washing their hands, she wants to wash hers too!  Since we're busy moving the rest of our stuff in right now, we have our utility sink sitting on the floor; so Serena's been pretending to wash her hands in that!

In other news, the end of Serena's teething is in sight!  She has cut half of her first two-year molar!  It's the bottom right.

And Bret.  He's Mr. Congeniality, for sure!  He is getting very fast at covering ground.  Still not crawling on all fours, but likes to get up on all fours and rock.  He also loves getting thrown around, which is good news for him, since that's what's going to be happening more and more as he gets bigger!  ;)  He has this really funny way of pushing his voice out when he gets excited.  He puts his arms out and then pulls them down to his sides with a big "Huh!"  I think he's going to be a loud child!

There he is!  Mr Congeniality!
