Back on Track

After a couple of weeks of struggling with flat tires on the jogging stroller (the replacement tube I bought turned out to already be flat and the next week Walmart was out of stock), we are finally rolling again! Even though it was extremely windy today (gusts of 40 mph??!!), I didn't want to wait another day to get out for a nice long walk! We walked to the playground and Serena went down the slide over and over and over again for the 20 minutes or so that we stayed there! She's quite the pro now!

All the good smiley pictures were fuzzy! Boo! But these are still pretty cute! I love this little outfit on him! As you can see, he's starting to fill his onesie out pretty well! This kid loves to talk and interact! Sometimes, when I'm just standing nearby, I'll look down at him and see him giving me the BIGGEST grins before I even have a chance to say anything to him to get him going!

While I was doing my hair this morning (YES, I actually did my hair today! That means I dried it with a blow dryer and used a curling iron on it! Most mornings, I just put gel in it and call it good.), Bret was laying on the floor at my feet and Serena was busy keeping herself entertained with all the treasures that our bathroom holds. ;) She took the bathrug and used it to cover Bret up like it was a blanket. When she was satisfied with how she had situated it on him, she pulled it off. Then, she started jabbering in a really high voice, leaned over Bret, grabbed each of his hands in hers, and helped him do the "more" sign. After that, she immediately repeated the whole process! I think Bret might qualify for a world record as the youngest baby-signer ever! ;)

Tonight we had a casual supper because I didn't have time for supper prep since the adjuster was here from 3-5 this afternoon! So, I just made us some quesadillas. Since I can only make one at a time, we don't usually all sit down together at the same time to eat them. So Jordan was already sitting down at the table eating his quesadilla when I put Serena in her high chair and brought hers and mine over. I was getting settled into my chair with Bret on my lap, when Serena started stretching her hands out to Jordan and I, "Men! Men!" It took me a second, but then it dawned on me that she wanted us to pray! At the end of a prayer, she will usually say "men," which is her version of "amen." :)
